text_letter_spacing__hover_enabled=&#8221;off|desktop&#8221; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;]<p>Mud Valley Foundation is a nonprofit that works to reverse the effects of desertification in both our local ecosystem and greater bioregion to assure improved soil quality, water availability, biodiversity, and local livelihoods.<\/p>\n<p>Mud Valley Foundation is also part of a global network of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecosystemrestorationcommunities.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ecosystem restoration communities<\/a> engaged in regeneration efforts, and is creating a <a href=\"https:\/\/mudvalley.org\/about-us\/bioregional-learning-center-for-southwest-portugal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bioregional Learning Center<\/a> to empower people to be effective agents of change and regeneration in their communities. It also supports educational efforts in the areas of eco-social regeneration and ecosystem restoration.<\/p>\n<p>Their activities fall into three primary categories:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Programs and training,<\/li>\n<li>Scientific research and projects, and<\/li>\n<li>Grants for organizations with a regeneration focus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mud Valley Foundation sponsors the <a href=\"https:\/\/mudvalley.org\/get-involved\/volunteer-regenerative-farm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tuesdays of Regen<\/a> volunteering program here at Quinta Vale da Lama, and their <a href=\"https:\/\/mudvalley.org\/the-soil-lab-at-mud-valley-institute\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Soil Lab<\/a> is an onsite, field-based laboratory conducting soil health-focused research and experiments.
