Nonprofit partners
Novas Descobertas Association
Novas Descobertas Association was founded in 1994 and delivers a variety of educational and self-development programs throughout the year for learners of all ages and backgrounds. Some of their programs include day and residential camps for youth, customized offerings for schools and groups, and a Permaculture Design Course and Ecosystem Regeneration Camps for advanced learners.
Novas Descobertas Association is based at the Campo do Vale area of Quinta Vale da Lama, near the estuary.
Mud Valley Institute
Mud Valley Institute is working to reverse the effects of desertification in both our local ecosystem and greater bioregion to assure improved soil quality, water availability, biodiversity, and local livelihoods. They sponsor the Tuesdays of Regen volunteering program here at Quinta Vale da Lama, and their Soil Lab is an onsite, field-based laboratory conducting soil health-focused research and experiments.
Mud Valley Institute is based at Quinta Vale da Lama.
Ecosystem Restoration Communities
Ecosystem Restoration Communities (ERC), empowers local action to achieve global ecological regeneration through a network of over 60 ERC Hubs around the world. Their mission is to revitalise the planet by restoring ecosystems through community-driven projects. By nurturing local leadership and fostering knowledge exchange, ERC is creating a worldwide movement where nature and communities flourish together for generations.
Quinta Vale da Lama is proud to be one of the select few ERC hubs in the Iberian Peninsula.

Wild Zymu Foods
Wild Zymu features a range of fermented products of high therapeutic value. They also offer dehydrated products, sweets and jams, fruit juices, and sauces and condiments, all hand-made using artisanal production methods.
Wild Zymu’s products are created using seasonal, local, and organic ingredients from Quinta Vale da Lama and other local organic producers. You can find them at several area locations, including the Viv’o Mercado Lagos Organic Market each Wednesday.
