Volunteer Program
Saturday of Regen
Join us on 14 November 2026 for a guided tour of the ecosystem regeneration work being done at Quinta Vale da Lama, followed by a volunteering work session to directly support those regenerative efforts.
This program takes place on Saturday, 14 November 2026, from 1pm – 5pm.
Anyone wishing to explore or be involved in ecosystem restoration can participate, whether you are a curious beginner, have some previous experience, or have been doing regeneration work for years. Everyone is welcome. This program is open to locals and visitors to the area alike.
This program is a part of the Month of Regeneration, a series of actions and volunteering events to support ecosystem regeneration in the western Algarve.
The guided tour and working session is planned and facilitated by Hugo Oliveira, Landscape Ecologist and Permaculture Designer.
Guided Tour
1:00pm – 2:00pm
We will start with an informative, guided tour of some of the areas at Quinta Vale da Lama that have undergone regenerative interventions over the last 10 years. You will learn about some of the techniques that have been applied, and the reasons for doing them.
There will be a short break for snacks and light refreshments following the tour.
Volunteer Working Session
2:15pm – 5pm
We will spend time with our hands in the soil, implementing ecosystem regeneration works around the farm. These practical activities on the land encourage learning and enjoyment in a hands-on way, and are expected to include soil preparation and plantings of trees and perennials.
Your time and effort will help contribute to the ongoing regeneration at our 43 hectare farm.
Join either or both sessions.
